Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how The Clear Decisions Company Ltd ("Clear Decisions", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the Clear Decisions website. It is referred to by, and should be read alongside, our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. We also use closely related browser technologies, including your browser's local storage, and we describe those here too because they raise the same questions for you even though they are not technically cookies.
Our approach to consent
No analytics or advertising technology runs on this website until you have accepted it. When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice, and nothing beyond the strictly necessary record of that choice is set until you make one. If you select "Essentials only", no analytics or advertising technology is loaded at all.
This reflects the position under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the EU ePrivacy Directive: consent is required before non-essential cookies are set, and it must be as easy to refuse as to accept.

2. Analytics — only with your consent
These help us understand which pages are useful and where people get stuck. They are loaded only after you accept.

Provided by Google. Measures page views and navigation across the site. Typically sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<container>, which Google retains for up to two years by default. Google acts as our processor for this data.
Microsoft Clarity
Provided by Microsoft. Records aggregated interaction data such as scrolling and clicks so we can see where pages are confusing. Typically sets cookies named _clck, _clsk, CLID, ANONCHK, MUID and SM, with retention ranging from the end of your session to just over a year.
3. Advertising and audience measurement — only with your consent
LinkedIn Insight Tag
Provided by LinkedIn. Lets us measure the performance of LinkedIn campaigns and build audiences of people who have visited the site, so that our advertising reaches people with a plausible interest in data centre compliance rather than the general public. Typically sets cookies named li_sugr, bcookie, bscookie, lidc, li_gc, UserMatchHistory and AnalyticsSyncHistory, with retention ranging from one day to two years.
This technology involves LinkedIn processing your data for its own purposes as well as ours. If you refuse, it is not loaded and no such audience includes you.
4. What we do not use
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles for sale or transfer to data brokers, and we do not operate a cross-site tracking network of our own. Third parties named above set their own cookies under their own policies once you have consented.
5. Changing or withdrawing your choice
You can withdraw consent at any time, and it is no harder than giving it:
- Clear cookies and site data for this website in your browser settings. The consent banner will appear again on your next visit and you can choose "Essentials only".
- Use your browser's own controls to block or delete cookies generally. Most browsers let you do this per site.
- Email us using the contact details in our Privacy Policy and we will confirm what we hold.
Withdrawing consent stops future collection. It does not by itself delete data already collected by a third party, though you can ask us and we will pass the request on.
6. Legal basis
For strictly necessary storage we rely on the exemption for storage that is essential to provide a service you have requested. For everything in sections 2 and 3 we rely on your consent, and we treat that consent as the lawful basis for the associated processing of personal data under Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR and EU GDPR.
7. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the technologies we use change. Where a change means we would collect materially more than before, we will ask for consent again rather than rely on a choice you made against a different description.
